Keys to the Kingdom

Webinar Topic:

Intellectual property (IP) is the cornerstone of the digital content marketplace. Profitability and success are predicated on the ability to protect this IP, and thereby monetize it completely. The ‘keys’ to this kingdom come in many forms, including symmetric keys and asymmetric private and public keys. They are used for many purposes, including encryption, authentication, and node-locking. Loss of first-level keys allows piracy of a given media title or software game. As deeper or more system-critical keys are exploited, entire platforms become susceptible to widespread piracy – allowing hackers to instantaneously rip media libraries, unlock subsidized devices, snoop on e-banking transactions, and compromise VoIP communication infrastructure.

This webinar will discuss the various contexts in which keys are used to protect the value of your intellectual property and to preserve the privacy of your end customers. It will also discuss the various types of attacks that such keys are susceptible to in today’s world of rampant piracy and organized hacking. We will evaluate the effectiveness of traditional techniques for key protection in the context of this threat landscape. We will also present a new offering from Arxan Technologies that combines white box cryptography with comprehensive application hardening for durable and resilient, yet low impact, IP protection.
